TENDER DESCRIPTION
The contract notice relates to a modernization within the baggage handling system in Terminal 1 (T1) at Frankfurt/Main Airport. In several areas of the baggage handling system, a "WETEC control technology" from the 1970s is still in use. Due to the advanced age of the technical installations and due to pollutant contamination caused by asbestos-containing fire protection materials on the electrical system (cable system), there is an urgent need for refurbishment. Spare parts availability is no longer guaranteed and the number of experts with specialized knowledge in the field of WETEC is continuously decreasing, which increasingly makes maintenance more difficult. In addition, the flexibility to adapt the systems as a result of the complexity and age of the installations is significantly limited. The scope of the project includes 19 installations with approx. 1,540 drives. For all installations, initially the preparation of project stage 1 to 3 (determination of requirements, preliminary planning and design planning) is intended.
