In accordance with § 85 para. 2 item 8 of Book Eight (VIII) of the Social Code (SGB), the State Youth Office (Landesjugendamt) has a statutory mandate to offer further training for employees in child and youth welfare. Continuous further training is an indispensable prerequisite for maintaining and improving the employees’ qualifications. The further training mandate covers the entire catalogue of tasks in child and youth welfare and applies to all employees, both at public providers and at independent (non-public) providers. The further developed Saxon Education and Training Plan provides professionals working in nursery and day care for children with a common frame of reference and new impetus for their everyday pedagogical practice.
