TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (Kassenärztlichen Vereinigungen) - as bodies governed by public law - were assigned the duty of ensuring care in statutory health insurance (§ 75 SGB V). Accordingly, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians Berlin (hereinafter KV Berlin or AG) must ensure the provision of contracted medical care. The assurance also includes medical emergency service outside consultation hours (emergency service). In Berlin, this service is referred to as the “Ärztlicher Bereitschaftsdienst” (hereinafter ÄBD). The ÄBD includes, among other things, a house-visit service that provides patients with medical care at home if needed. This service is concerned with out-of-hours emergency care for the population for the city area of Berlin. This service is clearly distinct from the rescue service in Berlin, which is carried out by the fire brigade and aid organizations.
