    TENDER DESCRIPTION

    The rapidly advancing changes in the climate have a major impact on our existing ecosystems. This current development also has a direct bearing on traffic safety, as trees at special locations along roads are particularly exposed to this. Similarly, woody plant and tree species are affected by compensation and mitigation measures (CEF measures). The successful implementation of such measures depends essentially on the selection of climate-resilient species that enable greater durability in the long term and require less maintenance. Since 2 March 2020, pursuant to Section 40 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (Bundesnaturschutzgesetz), the seed and planting material of woody plants may be deployed in the wild only within their areas of occurrence (native to the site). However, there are uncertainties regarding the adaptability of native species to climate change. The deployment of non-native species there is possible only by means of an exemption permit issued by approval or nature conservation authorities in accordance with the guidance of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (Bundesamt für Naturschutz).
