TENDER DESCRIPTION

The ZTV E-StB, Section 13.2 contains references to procedures in which mechanical soil improvement is carried out by ramming or by driving suitable coarse-grained construction materials into the ground. These are not described sufficiently and are barely feasible from a tendering perspective. Therefore, binder treatment in accordance with ZTV E-StB, Section 12 with lime and/or cement is often given priority. In particular with regard to the CO2 balance, the use of these binders must be assessed critically. In the research project, different primary and secondary construction materials are to be investigated. In addition, the required preparation processes are to be described and, if necessary, new processes are to be developed that result from the current state of machine technology. This can enable the use of these construction materials—using current preparation techniques—to serve as an alternative to the lime and cement of conventional binder treatment.
