TENDER DESCRIPTION

Background and objective Initial situation: With the introduction of the modular sheet 100 (April 2024, edition 2025/02), the regulatory framework changed from a prescriptive recipe approach to a performance concept. Sheet 100 Module A defines an "extremely high" service life of at least 50 years under corrosion category C5 – going beyond DIN EN ISO 12944. Problem: The 50-year service life is not scientifically substantiated (no laboratory tests/research). It is based on experience with the previous regulatory framework, increased test requirements and total coating thickness. Research objective: Verification of the service-life assumption, determination of the correlation between test requirements and service life, long-term exposure (9 years, Phase 1, up to 53 years total).
