    TENDER DESCRIPTION

ReFoPlan: "Investigation of the Effect of Adsorbing Poorly Biodegradable Components of Detergents and Cleaning Agents (WRM) on Sediment Organisms - Polymers" Many detergents and cleaning agents (WRM) contain biologically poorly biodegradable organic ingredients whose environmental behaviour is not yet fully understood. These substances include polycarboxylates (PCA), partly also their alternatives (PCA alternatives), as well as polyvinyl alcohols (PVA) and polyquaternium compounds (PQ), which can also adsorb to activated sludge, sediment, and suspended solids. The representatives of these substance classes contained in WRM are mostly used in wastewater-compatible WRM products. And although high elimination rates can be achieved in wastewater treatment plants in some cases, these substances enter surface waters due to the constant use of WRM and thus continuous inflow via wastewater treatment plant effluents. There they come into contact with sediments or suspended particles in the waters, exposing aquatic as well as sediment-dwelling organisms to PCA/PCA alternatives, PVA, and PQ. However, the effect of the adsorbed polymers, particularly on sediment organisms, has hardly been…
