TENDER DESCRIPTION

The first major funding measures initiated by the district in accordance with the directive “Funding to support the broadband expansion in the Federal Republic of Germany” are shortly before successful completion. In a second step, the focus is now on the build-out of gigabit networks in “grey areas” with reliable bandwidths of 1 gigabit/s symmetrically or more. For this purpose, in addition to the project area of Wittenberge covered by the present project, the district formed four further project areas/area lots for gigabit funding in the district of Prignitz, which have already been separately tendered and awarded throughout Europe. Therefore, the subject of this procedure is only the project area/area lot 5. The expansion covers 1,230 address points in the town of Wittenberge. For the selection of private telecommunications companies for the construction and operation of the gigabit network structures, an open, transparent and non-discriminatory tendering procedure must be carried out in accordance with the funding regulations, which is consistent with the principles of the EU public procurement directive and with German public budget and procurement law.
