TENDER DESCRIPTION

The first major funding measures initiated by the district in accordance with the directive “Funding to support broadband expansion in the Federal Republic of Germany” are shortly before successful completion. The next step now is to build gigabit networks in “grey areas” with reliable bandwidths of 1 gigabit/s or more, symmetrically or higher. For this purpose, the district formed, in addition to the project area of Wittenberge covered by this project, another four project areas/lot areas for gigabit funding in the district of Prignitz, which have already been separately tendered and awarded across Europe. The subject of this procedure is therefore only the project area/lot area 5. The expansion covers 1,230 address points in the city of Wittenberge. For the selection of private telecommunications companies for the construction and operation of the gigabit network structures, an open, transparent and non-discriminatory tendering procedure must be carried out in accordance with the funding regulations, which is in line with the principles of the EU procurement directives and German budget and procurement law.
