TENDER DESCRIPTION

The purchase of a new autoclave is intended to replace the ageing equipment of the SPF animal facility of the University of Liège, located in building B34. This highly secure structure, compliant with FELASA standards, houses more than 350 animal lineages under SPF status, essential for the validity of biomedical research. The 2,500-litre autoclave with a double through-pass door will make it possible to effectively sterilise cages, bedding, food and materials (plastic or stainless steel), before they enter the controlled area. The through autoclave allows the incoming materials to be sterilised and the outgoing materials to be decontaminated without breaking the sanitary barrier between the “dirty” side and the “clean” side, thereby helping to maintain the animals’ health status. The autoclave must be compatible with the trolleys (made of durable stainless steel) used by the SPF animal facility, whose dimensions are approximately 135 cm in height, approximately 78 cm in width and approximately 135 cm in length.
