TENDER DESCRIPTION

The purchase of a new autoclave is intended to replace the ageing equipment of the SPF animal facility of the University of Liège, located in building B34. This highly secure facility, compliant with FELASA standards, houses more than 350 animal lineages under SPF status, which is essential for the validity of biomedical research. The 2500-litre autoclave with a double pass-through door will make it possible to effectively sterilise cages, bedding, feed and equipment (plastic or stainless steel) before they enter the controlled zone. The pass-through autoclave makes it possible to sterilise incoming equipment and decontaminate outgoing equipment without breaking the sanitary barrier between the “dirty” side and the “clean” side, thereby contributing to maintaining the animals’ health status. The autoclave must be compatible with the trolleys (made of durable stainless steel) used by the SPF animal facility, whose dimensions are approximately 135 cm in height, approximately 78 cm in width and approximately 135 cm in length.
