TENDER DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the project is the planning and implementation of a new animal facility for the Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences (ISAS e.V.) at the Dortmund site. With the construction project, additional capacities for biomedical research are to be created. The plan provides for animal housing areas for laboratory rodents including SPF housing (Specific Pathogen Free), open housing and quarantine areas, experimental animal housing rooms, an animal operating theatre (animal OP), laboratory areas, office and social rooms, as well as all infrastructure, supply and disposal, and technical areas required for operation. The building is designed as a highly serviced research building with special requirements for hygiene, biosafety, supply reliability and building services equipment. The main planning objectives are the optimization of internal operating processes, ensuring a high level of operational flexibility, and the possibility of a future extension of the research and animal housing capacities. The facility is intended to provide capacities for the keeping of up to around 4,000 laboratory rodents and to allow use by external research groups as well.
