TENDER DESCRIPTION

GKS Gemeinschaftskraftwerk Schweinfurt GmbH (GKS) operates a combined waste/coal heat and power plant in Schweinfurt to generate district heating and electricity. The steam is used by the industrial customers and the Stadtwerke Schweinfurt for heat supply. GKS is owned by the shareholders, which include the surrounding rural districts that dispose of their waste at the MVA site. Further shareholders are Stadtwerke Schweinfurt and the industrial companies ZF, Schaeffler and SKF, which also take the heat. The electrical energy generated in the combined heat and power process and in the condensing operation of the turbines is fed into the public grid. GKS consists of three waste lines and two coal lines, whose live steam is routed to an extraction-condensing turbine and a back-pressure turbine. The turbines supply the 4.5-barü steam main, from which the district heating customers are supplied. Industrial plants in the north are supplied directly with steam. Stadtwerke Schweinfurt in the northern grid area (FWZ-Nord) and the customers in the south (FWZ-Süd) are supplied with hot water via conversion stations.
