TENDER DESCRIPTION
Fachhochschule Aachen requires a fibre-optic connection (two unlit fibre optic twin cables) from Aachen to Jülich as of 01.01.2027. The requirement for two unlit fibre optic twin cables serves to ensure future-proof and flexible use of the passive fibre-optic infrastructure. By providing two separate twin cables, in addition to the currently required transmission route, additional fibres are available for redundancy, extensions, alternative transmission routes or future applications. The implementation with two twin cables also reduces the effort for later retrofitting and increases operational reliability, expandability and the long-term cost-effectiveness of the infrastructure.
