TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Mayen intends to replace the existing gymnasium with a new building that includes a gym hall with a cafeteria as well as additional classrooms on the site of St. Veit Primary School in Mayen. The new building is planned as a multi-storey structure constructed using timber frame or solid timber construction. A combined use of sports, cafeteria, and school areas is planned. The new building directly adjoins the existing school building, creating a unified structure. Parts of the building interlock over two floors in certain areas, allowing for a barrier-free connection of the corridor areas between the existing and new buildings. On the ground floor, a single-field sports hall and a cafeteria including the necessary ancillary, storage, technical, and functional rooms are planned. Both the sports hall and the cafeteria are designed as large usage areas with as few supports as possible, thus imposing increased demands on the structural engineering and structural design.
