TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Mayen intends to build a replacement new construction of a gymnasium with a cafeteria as well as additional classrooms on the grounds of St. Veit Primary School in Mayen. The new building is planned as a multi-storey structure in timber frame construction or solid timber construction. A combined use of sports, cafeteria, and school areas is planned. The new building adjoins the existing school building directly, resulting in a closed building complex. The building parts interlock over two floors in some areas, creating a barrier-free connection of the corridor areas between the existing building and the new construction. On the ground floor, a single-field sports hall as well as a cafeteria including the necessary ancillary, storage, technical, and functional rooms are planned. Both the sports hall and the cafeteria are designed as larger, minimally column-supported usage areas and therefore place elevated demands on the structural engineering and constructive design.
