TENDER DESCRIPTION

As part of the station offensive of the investment programme “Niedersachsen ist am Zug 3”, a total of three railway stops in Braunschweig will be reactivated over the coming years. In addition to the stopping points Bienrode and Leiferde that are already under planning, the Braunschweig-West railway stop is now to be developed between the districts of Weststadt and Broitzem in the area of Friedrich-Seele-Straße, Neckarstraße, Donaustraße and Marienberger Straße. For the attractive development of the interchange point, under the lead responsibility of the City of Braunschweig, among other things, the transfer from SPNV to local public transport (ÖPNV) is to be established via new bus stops (including bus layover bays). Furthermore, it is necessary to plan a P+R facility, a Kiss&Ride zone, a new bicycle parking garage, as well as new traffic routes (including new crossing facilities) for the optimal interconnection of pedestrian traffic, cycle traffic and private motor vehicle traffic (MIV), the need for which will be described in more detail in the course of the project.
