TENDER DESCRIPTION

The subject of this invitation to tender is the manufacture of permanently effective fall protection at the locks of Bad Abbach, Regensburg, Geisling and Straubing in the area of responsibility of the WSA Donau MDK. The measure is intended to protect operating and maintenance personnel as well as other persons duly authorised to work in the lock area against falls into the lock chamber or into the water. The four facilities are awarded in separate lots. Due to differing existing conditions, three structural implementation variants result: Bad Abbach, Regensburg, and the design-identical implementations Geisling / Straubing. The guardrails are, as a rule, to be made as a modular tubular guardrail system with clamping connectors. The design basis of the main system is a horizontal load of 1.0 kN/m at a height of 1.10 m. The height of the guardrails is at least 1.10 m, and the post spacing is at most 1.50 m. Toe-boards are to be at least 100 mm high; the distance between the toe-board and the mid-rail and between the mid-rail and the handrail may not exceed 0.50 m.
