Long-term 24-hour sheltered housing means permanent living in a housing unit where the customer receives the care and supervision they need around the clock. The customers are elderly people who meet the contracting authority’s criteria for granting 24-hour accommodation. Long-term 24-hour sheltered housing includes care and supervision, meals, clothing care and cleaning provided according to the customer’s individual needs, regardless of the time of day. In addition, 24-hour sheltered housing includes activities that promote the customer’s wellbeing, health, functional capacity, independent coping, as well as inclusion and social interaction.
