TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Old Cinkarna area in Celje, including the area where the tailings heap was previously located, represents a degraded site according to the Decree on the determination of degraded environment and the program of measures to improve environmental quality in the Old Cinkarna area in the Municipality of Celje (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 35/24). It concerns inherited environmental burdens due to past land use where metallurgical-chemical production took place and areas of landfill formation. The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy (hereinafter MOPE) conducted a contract where the selected contractor IZVO-R d.o.o reviewed all available documentation and preliminary environmental investigations of soil, groundwater, and surface water previously conducted due to pollution in the Old Cinkarna area in the Municipality of Celje. The area was not previously handled comprehensively, so it was not possible to obtain data for a reliable assessment of pollution.
