TENDER DESCRIPTION

The area of the abandoned tar landfill at Studenci in the Municipality of Maribor is just one of the environmental burdens from the past; such landfills are present throughout Slovenia. The disposal of tar at Studenci dates back to the operation period of the former Mineral Oil Refinery Maribor. According to available data, the tar at Studenci is located on two parcels no. 489 and 488, cadastral municipality Studenci. It is estimated that approximately 12,700 m³ of acid sludge (tar), bleaching earth, and soils as well as an additional 10,000 m³ of contaminated soils such as gravel and other materials have been deposited at the site. The landfill location is particularly sensitive as it is located within the wider water protection area (Water Protection Zone III) according to the Regulation on the water protection area for the water body of the aquifers of Ruše, Vrbanski Plateau, Limbuška dobrava and Drava plain (Official Gazette RS, no. 24/07, 32/11, 22/13, 79/15 and 182/20).
