Java OpenJDK Support 2026

TENDER DESCRIPTION

Java is the BA’s strategic platform product for development and runtime environments. This enables Java applications to be executed independently of the underlying operating system (referred to as the Java Virtual Machine JVM or the Java runtime environment). As the standard product, OpenJDK Java 8 from Azul is currently installed on all BA clients. For the OpenJDK software incl. the Java Access Bridge (JAB), the required technical support and maintenance are available, including updates/upgrades, pure security patches and hot fixes (critical security patches). For the BA, the time-limited provision of a quality-assured OpenJDK software and the technical support, including maintenance, updates/upgrades, pure security patches and hot fixes (critical security patches) are necessary. This ensures and guarantees both secure and supported operation and the further development of BA’s standard and premium procedures. Technical support, maintenance and optional services for an "Open Source" OpenJDK for an unlimited number of installations (unlimited up to the quantities stated in the table below) for 4 years.
