TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (“contracting authority”) is responsible for coordinating climate change adaptation work at the level of the Government. In accordance with the Climate Change Act, the Ministry is responsible for preparing the national adaptation plan for climate change and its background materials (including the national climate risk and vulnerability assessment). The purpose of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is to procure the planning, implementation and reporting of the national climate risk and vulnerability assessment. The results of the risk and vulnerability assessment should be available when preparation of the national adaptation plan is initiated at the beginning of the next parliamentary term. The aim of preparing the national climate risk and vulnerability assessment is to obtain, based on the best available information, an understanding of the climate risks and vulnerabilities affecting Finland and to strengthen the connection between the assessment of risks and vulnerabilities and the planning of adaptation policy.
