TENDER DESCRIPTION

Scaffolding and weather protection contract in connection with the refurbishment of the façade of Karstula Church and the roof repair works. Karstula Church is a log-built church building representing the Late Empire style, completed in 1853. The bell tower was originally completed in 1815 and received its present external appearance in the modification works carried out in 1861. By virtue of the Church Act, Karstula Church and the bell tower are protected ecclesiastical buildings. In addition to the buildings themselves, the protection of the site covers fixed interiors belonging to the scope of protection, paintings, works of art, and the courtyard area. The site also belongs to a nationally significant built cultural environment (RCY), Karstula church village. In the repair and alteration works of the building, the building’s significant cultural-historical and building-historical values must be taken into account, as well as the principles agreed in the project with the Finnish Heritage Agency (Museovirasto).
