TENDER DESCRIPTION

TUM Klinikum Rechts der Isar plans the replacement new-build of the South Operating Centre (OPZ Süd) with associated functional areas on the home site of the hospital in Munich-Haidhausen. The reason for the measure is the infrastructurally critical condition of the existing South OP centre. The building services engineering and major parts of the medical technology are completely obsolete. Due to failure of the ventilation system, two of the originally ten operating theatres have already had to be taken permanently out of service. Renovation of the existing building during ongoing operation is not possible. The new-build is intended to ensure long-term clinical performance capability of the hospital and in particular includes: Replacement of 8 operating theatres of the existing South OP centre, construction of an interdisciplinary intensive care unit with around 20 beds, construction of a unit for allogeneic stem cell transplantation with 9 beds, Areas for the urology outpatient clinic as a replacement for areas in the existing facility that will be shaded in the future, connection to the existing clinical and logistical structures of the hospital.
