As part of the project, the existing barns are to be converted, expanded and extended in such a way that functional and up-to-date rooms for various uses are created. In particular, training rooms for the prison custody service are planned, as well as sports and health-related areas in the form of a fitness room and a sports and/or multipurpose room, and office rooms for the administration of the AFI. In doing so, cost-effectiveness, functionality and sustainability must be taken into account. In addition, it must be examined to what extent renewable energies, for example by installing a photovoltaic system for solar power generation, can be integrated into the concept. The property is subject to heritage protection (listed building). The buildings to be planned form part of the listed ensemble of Rittergut Thale 1 (property/object number: 09445361) and, due to their historical, cultural-artistic and urban-development significance, are designated as a cultural heritage monument.
