TENDER DESCRIPTION

Each year, countless individuals of many bat species die as a result of collision or barotrauma at wind turbines; in particular at older installations without shutdown algorithms. In addition, many other bat species are also negatively affected by the expansion of renewable energies due to habitat loss. Some of the affected bat species already show a stagnant or even negative population trend, and in particular for the greater noctule (Nyctalus noctula) the decline in the population is linked to the high number of fatalities at wind turbines. For many bat species, effective implementation of population-supporting measures is therefore urgently required. In this project, therefore, species action plans are to be developed for a total of 5-10 bat species that are particularly affected by the expansion of renewable energies. Species action plans, among other things, serve to set out objectives and suitable measures for the species, and to coordinate measures on a large scale within a network, thereby making them particularly effective.
