    TENDER DESCRIPTION

About 180 m downstream of the run-of-river power plant Eglisau-Glattfelden (KW Eglisau), the Glatt flows into the Rhine. Along its lowest approx. 290 m, it runs through the underground Glatt tunnel, which was built between 1914-1919 and is part of KW Eglisau. With the concession newly granted on December 16, 1998, by the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (UVEK) for KW Eglisau, KWE was obligated according to Art. 25 to restore fish passage in the Glatt tunnel. The preferred option chosen was the tunnel variant, where fish migration mainly occurs through a separate, 340 m long tunnel. The new tunnel runs parallel to the existing Glatt tunnel. Fish passage mainly takes place via a rough channel or rough channel-pool passage with a flow rate of approx. 0.5 - 1.0 m3/s. Only at the existing bottom threshold of the measuring station does fish passage occur via a block ramp. To avoid overloading of the ascent tunnel at Q > Q30, a locally lowered lateral wall (strike weir) is planned at the upper end of the…
