Kunstmuseum Moritzburg - Umzug

TENDER DESCRIPTION

Due to upcoming extensive construction works at the Moritzburg site as part of a special investment programme financed by the Federal Government and the state, which will last about 3-4 years, and following careful consideration and discussion, it has been decided to completely clear the Kunstmuseum Moritzburg museum site. This means relocating virtually all works of art and all offices, as well as all related equipment, to an interim location. By the end of the construction-related interim period in 2031/32, the new central depot, which will serve as the collection centre of the Kulturstiftung Sachsen-Anhalt, is to be completed and ready for occupancy. This means that in 2031/32 the move out of the interim facility is scheduled, which—partly together with the majority of the objects and staff and the works belonging to the permanent exhibition—will return to Moritzburg. As an interim site, part of the vacant department store complex formerly known as Galeria Kaufhof has been found, directly by the central market square of the city of Halle (Saale).
