This research specifically focuses on the impact of measures on the nitrogen cycle and their effect on the ecological restoration of wet, low-productive, base-loving habitats with short vegetation. The results of the research should lead to: - An overview of the knowledge regarding the quantitative effects of nitrogen removal measures in the investigated habitats - The refinement of guidelines for applying these measures in restoration strategies for nitrogen-sensitive habitat types - Recommendations for research to fill knowledge gaps - Recommendations for policy on how to effectively restore nitrogen-sensitive habitats - The research concludes with a report including the above components.
