TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Customs Laboratory’s analytical methods have been validated and accredited such that they use certain specified consumables. If the consumable used in a method has a significant effect on, or may affect, the method performance parameters, e.g. sensitivity or discriminatory capability, it cannot be replaced by another without re-validation and re-accreditation. Pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2017/625 on official controls, all methods used in controls must be accredited. If a method is validated and accredited again due to changes in consumables that affect the performance of the method, control using that method will most often have to be suspended for the duration of the re-validation. Due to the accreditation requirement described above, the Finnish Customs considers it justified to procure the specific brands described in the tender documents and to direct the tender accordingly to those specific brands.
