Cross-border project for the sustainable improvement of the ecological and hydrological status of the Rögnitz - Lot 1 Surveying The Rögnitz is located in the east of the federal state of Lower Saxony and in the west of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Over a length of about 15 km, the Rögnitz forms the state boundary between the federal states of Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania between Gudow and Woosmer. The boundary runs along the middle of the water body. The Rögnitz is a tributary of the Sude and forms part of the Elbe river basin district. Both in Lower Saxony and in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the Rögnitz is a body of water that is subject to reporting requirements as part of the implementation of the EC Water Framework Directive (WRRL). Its water body ROEG-0300 comprises a river stretch of 54 km. The water body is characterized as a lowland river shaped by sand and clay (LAWA type 15) and is classified as “natural”.
