TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and Environment plans the comprehensive renewal of the road Unter den Linden from Pariser Platz to Schloßbrücke. As an advance measure, the central promenade is redesigned from Wilhelmstraße to Universitätsstraße. As part of the measure, approximately 157 silver lindens of the variety `Brabant´ are to be planted, approximately 80 unserviceable existing trees are to be felled, 2 existing trees from 1936 are to be retained, and approximately 21 existing trees are to be transplanted to another site. The silver lindens were already selected and purchased in 2023 and are therefore provided by the contracting authority. Since 2023, they have been cared for in the 2 delivery tree nurseries, producing an as uniform as possible quality and preparing them for the site. For the new planting, a planting trench approximately 2.3 m wide and 1.5 m deep is to be created. The excavated material is to be removed and disposed of. The backfilling of the planting trench shall be carried out with structurally stable tree substrate and 30 cm of topsoil, as well as a cover made of mineral mulch.
