TENDER DESCRIPTION

Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG (KVB) intends to procure an ID-based ticketing system (IDBT system) for ticket sales in local public transport. The subject of the award is the delivery, implementation, integration, commissioning, maintenance and further development of an overall system consisting of vehicle-bound validators, a back-office system and the technical operation of the back-office system as a cloud service (Managed Cloud Service). Maintenance, further development and operation shall be carried out for up to 10 years after overall acceptance. The contract includes the delivery and installation of validators in 406 light rail vehicles (1,624 validators in total), 429 buses (858 validators in total) for the overall vehicle fleet of KVB AG and its subsidiary Schilling Omnibus Verkehr (SOV) GmbH, as well as 8 validators for test facilities. In addition, 505 optional validators for extensions and already planned new vehicle procurement are provided.
