    TENDER DESCRIPTION

At the Leibniz Institute for Atmospheric Physics e.V., a solid-state laser system for the sodium D2 wavelength (589 nm) is to be procured for optical probing of the atmosphere (Lidar). The generation of the 589 nm laser wavelength shall be based on sum frequency generation (SFG) of two diode-pumped Nd:YAG lasers with emission lines at 1064 nm and 1319 nm respectively. The laser linewidth should be as narrow as possible, below 100 MHz (@ 589 nm). The seeding of both Nd:YAG lasers should already be integrated and tested as far as possible within the system. At minimum, the seeding of the two individual Nd:YAG lasers must be prepared and tested for 1064 nm. The laser at 589 nm shall have an energy >10 mJ at a repetition rate of 300 Hz and pulse lengths of a few tens of nanoseconds. The entire system should be as compact and robust as possible against environmental changes (mechanically and thermally stable) as well as durable and low-maintenance. The laser system shall have a PC interface with the capability of integration into IAP's own software. For compatibility reasons, the Nd:YAG lasers should be as identical as possible to existing Innolas EVO-DPSS lasers. This is…
