TENDER DESCRIPTION
As part of the project “Construction of large-scale heat storage and its hydraulic integration into the district heating distribution system at the HKW West site” (overall project WSPW) of the Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, a heat storage system is to be implemented to ensure a sustainable, future-proof and secure heat supply. The process engineering task of the planned 2-zone heat storage tank is to consist in storing and providing thermal energy as required within the district heating system. The heat storage tank, designed without pressure, shall enable separate charging and discharging of heat at different temperature levels through the formation of thermal stratification. By hydraulically decoupling it from the district heating network via a separate supply and return line system, the heat storage tank shall contribute to balancing load fluctuations as well as to the time decoupling of heat generation and heat consumption. Within the scope of this procurement, functional supply and return pumps as well as blending pumps, including all components required for proper operation, are to be planned, manufactured and delivered within the specified delivery limits.
