TENDER DESCRIPTION

The road maintenance contract is a target-price service contract that emphasizes cooperation between the contracting authority and the contractor during the term of the agreement. Under the road maintenance contract, the contractor is responsible for maintenance management duties, the procurement of maintenance works, and contract-compliant maintenance services. The contract covers winter and summer maintenance of roads in accordance with the contract documents. The contract includes summer and winter maintenance of roads located in the Kiuruvesi contract area. The total road network covered by the contract is approximately 510 kilometres, of which approximately 15 km are single carriageway roads of class Is, approximately 35 km are single carriageway roads of class Ib, approximately 45 km are single carriageway roads of class Ic, approximately 335 km are gravel roads, and approximately 20 km are pedestrian and cycle paths.
