TENDER DESCRIPTION

The road maintenance contract is a target-price service contract that emphasizes cooperation between the contracting authority and the contractor during the term of the contract. Under the road maintenance contract, the contractor is responsible for supervision/management duties, procurement of maintenance works, and contract-compliant maintenance work. The contract covers winter and summer maintenance of roads in accordance with the contract documents. The contract includes summer and winter maintenance of roads located in the Merikarvia contract area. The road network covered by the contract totals approximately 525 kilometres, of which approximately 80 km are single carriageway roads of class Is, approximately 55 km are single carriageway roads of class Ib, approximately 15 km are single carriageway roads of class Ic, approximately 180 km are gravel roads, and approximately 40 km are walking and cycling routes. In terms of its level of demandingness, the contract is a basic contract.
