TENDER DESCRIPTION

The road maintenance contract is a target-price service contract that emphasises cooperation between the contracting authority and the contractor during the contract period. In the road maintenance contract, the contractor is responsible for the contract management tasks, the procurement of maintenance works, and the maintenance work in accordance with the contract. The contract covers winter and summer maintenance of roads in accordance with the contract documents. The contract includes summer and winter maintenance of roads located in the Rovaniemi contract area. The total road network covered by the contract is approximately 1,090 kilometres, of which approximately 105 km are single-lane roads (Is), approximately 165 km are single-lane roads (Ib), approximately 270 km are single-lane roads (Ic), approximately 410 km are gravel roads, and approximately 115 km are pedestrian and cycling paths. The contract is demanding in terms of requirements.
