TENDER DESCRIPTION

The road maintenance contract is a target-price service contract that emphasises cooperation between the contracting authority and the contractor during the term of the contract. In the road maintenance contract, the contractor is responsible for contract management duties, the procurement of maintenance works, and maintenance work in accordance with the contract. The contract covers winter and summer maintenance of roads in accordance with the contract documents. The contract includes the summer and winter maintenance of roads located in the Siikalatva contract area. The total road network covered by the contract is approximately 785 kilometres, of which approximately 60 km are single carriageway of type Is, approximately 80 km are single carriageway of type Ib, approximately 60 km are single carriageway of type Ic, approximately 305 km are gravel roads, and approximately 15 km are pedestrian and cycling routes. The contract includes tasks of the water management department. The contract is a basic-level contract in terms of its level of demandingness.
