TENDER DESCRIPTION

An industry dialogue and a market survey have shown that, for the sub-area of the local authority at present, no capable gigabit infrastructure offering corresponding telecommunications services is available on a nationwide basis in accordance with the objectives of the Gigabit Framework Regulation 2.0 and it will be available in the coming years. The local authority has therefore applied for and been granted funding for a nationwide gigabit expansion—relating to the under-served sub-area in the Economic Viability Gap Model—under the guideline "Funding to support the expansion of gigabit telecommunications networks in the Federal Republic of Germany - Federal Gigabit Guideline 2.0 (Gigabit-RL 2.0)" of 31 March 2023 as amended by the amendment dated 13.01.2025 ("Gigabit Guideline 2.0"). The funding made available in this support program under the Economic Viability Gap Model (hereinafter: funds) shall be passed on by local authorities to telecommunications companies within the meaning of EU state aid law as an investment cost subsidy for the construction and operation of gigabit networks.
