TENDER DESCRIPTION

The assignment involves the supply of medals and decorations for the contracting authority. Upholding or strengthening the international legal order, peace and security is something the Netherlands devotes particular efforts to, including militarily. Those who work towards this deserve special appreciation and recognition; this can be done, among other things, by awarding an honour. In the Ministry of Defence, honours constitute the tangible recognition and appreciation provided by the Government, and for that reason alone they are an important instrument of personnel care. With the passing of the years, their importance is being increasingly recognized. We must not forget, in this context, that those currently deployed militarily are in fact the veterans of tomorrow. In addition, honours often have a very personal meaning for the recipient: the commitment that is being appreciated by an honour and the circumstances under which this took place are often such that only symbolic recognition can be expressed.
