TENDER DESCRIPTION

HKL-Finland (as represented by Pääkaupunkiseudun Kaupunkiliikenne Oy “KLOY”) is procuring a metro rail grinding machine operating using track-grinding slab technology (hereinafter the “machine”), intended to prevent incipient rail defects. The aim of the procurement is to extend the service life of the rails and reduce the need for profiling. The grinding function of the machine derives its power from the machine’s diesel generator unit, but it is towed or pushed with a rail transport truck. The machine’s location is the Helsinki metro depot, to which the machine is also delivered (DAP Metrovarikko, Helsinki). The machine must be delivered successfully no later than within 16 months of the signature of the contract. The machine is unloaded from transport under the guidance of, and in the presence of, the supplier’s personnel, and is then made operational and set onto the rails. The procurement includes maintenance and spare parts during the warranty period, as well as training for the personnel using the machine for KLOY.
