TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Large Sea Lock in Emden forms the main access to the Emden inland port. It was constructed between 1907 and 1913 and became operational in 1913. Extensive inspections of the entire structure took place in 1982/83 and most recently in 2016/17 through a major structural inspection. The last major refurbishment, which was intended to guarantee safe operation for a further 25 years, was carried out between 1992 and 1999. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a result of the major structural inspection from 2016/2017 and taking into account the new flood protection requirements, the contracting authority has prepared a repair plan (execution planning including verified structural calculation).
