    TENDER DESCRIPTION

    The Large Sea Lock in Emden constitutes the main access to the Emden inland port. It was constructed between 1907 and 1913 and was commissioned in 1913. Extensive examinations of the entire structure took place in 1982/83 and most recently in 2016/17 through a main structural inspection. The last major renovation, which was intended to guarantee safe operation for another 25 years, was carried out between 1992 and 1999. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------°°°°°° As a result of the main structural inspection from 2016/2017 and considering the new flood protection requirements, the contracting authority prepared a repair plan (detailed design with verified static calculations). This essentially includes the repair of the heads including the steel hydraulic engineering structures and the drive technology.
