TENDER DESCRIPTION

The scope of services involves the comprehensive major refurbishment of two listed existing buildings (former clinics) including design and conversion into new office and laboratory spaces for the Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology in Jena. On the parcel 105 / Lessingstraße 1 there is the former urology department with a listed part dating from 1914 and an extension dating from 1991. On the parcel 102/5 / Lessingstraße 2 there is the former ENT unit from the year of construction 1928. The buildings are each four storeys high, with an additional partially lit basement storey as well as an unbuilt gable-storey. The buildings and the garden facilities are subject to preservation orders; therefore close coordination with the State Office for Preservation of Monuments (Landesamt für Denkmalpflege) or the lower monument preservation authority (untere Denkmalschutzbehörde) is required. The institute building will consist primarily of office spaces and ancillary office areas.
