TENDER DESCRIPTION
1 unit nanoscopy microscope system For structural analysis of fixed samples, optical resolution is the decisive parameter. High optical resolution makes it possible to better recognize cellular structures and thereby to assess more precisely both the positive and the negative influence of substances. To enable microscopic analysis of detailed protein and membrane organization, such as protein dimers, as well as small pores in biomembranes, and to be able to distinguish protein conformations, a microscope with an optical resolution of up to 5 nm in 3D or below 1 nm in 2D is necessary. In order to be able to track the movement of proteins or other cellular structures within a cell, it is important that the time interval between two locations is as small as possible and that the location precision is as high as possible. In particular for analyzing the dynamics of individual proteins in biomembranes, a temporal resolution of up to 1 ms is required and, in live-cell mode, a localization precision of 10 nm in 3D. The Fraunhofer ITMP external site in Göttingen has, since its founding five years ago, developed into a well-known address for modern and high-resolution microscopy…
