TENDER DESCRIPTION

An industry dialogue and a market exploration have shown that for the sub-area of the local authority there is currently no efficient gigabit infrastructure with an offer of corresponding telecommunications services available nationwide in accordance with the goals of the Gigabit Framework Regulation 2.0, nor will it be available in the coming years. The local authority has therefore applied for and been granted funding for nationwide gigabit expansion—referring to the underserved sub-area in the economic viability gap model within the framework of the directive "Funding to Support the Gigabit Expansion of Telecommunications Networks in the Federal Republic of Germany - Federal Gigabit Directive 2.0 (Gigabit-RL 2.0)" dated 31 March 2023 in the version amended on 13 January 2025 ("Gigabit Directive 2.0"). The funding provided in this program under the economic viability gap model (hereinafter: funds) shall be passed on by local authorities to telecommunications companies in the EU state aid law sense as investment cost subsidies for the construction and operation of gigabit networks.
