TENDER DESCRIPTION

The new build of the Carl-Orff-School, including the media centre, located at Beckstraße 15-17 in Lingen on the site of the former Pestalozzi school, will be positioned to the south of the existing sports hall in the western part of the site and thus can be easily seen from Beckstraße. With a view to a reduced footprint and a building that is as compact as possible, the school building structure will be developed over two storeys. As a contribution to climate fairness, the building will be constructed as a timber hybrid building. The dimensions of the building structure allow expectations of a compact construction method optimised for daylight, as well as structural dimensions optimised for a timber frame construction. Cost- and material-intensive component connections with high complexity will be consistently avoided. The foundations will be shallow foundations on a reinforced concrete ground slab. The two stairwell cores and the lift shaft will also be made of reinforced concrete. The other internal walls will, for the most part, be constructed using timber frame and timber solid construction.
