TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Waurichen fire-fighting unit of the Volunteer Fire Department Geilenkirchen fulfills an important function within local civil protection. Since the currently used building, which serves as a fire station, is in a structurally inadequate condition, there is a need for new construction. Suitable alternatives in the form of existing buildings are not available. A renovation or modernization of the current site was examined, but was rejected due to technical and spatial limitations. In particular, the vehicle hall offers neither sufficient space nor the required load-bearing capacity to securely accommodate emergency vehicles according to today’s standards. The current site therefore provides no long-term perspective for fire-fighting operations. For this reason, a new building is to be planned at a new location.
